Identification of PFKFB3 as a PFKFB gene at high abundance in hypothalamic neurons. Total RNA was prepared from mouse hypothalami (A) and clonal hypothalamic neurons (B) and subjected to reverse transcription (RT)-PCR using primers designed specific for cDNA of each of the four PFKFB genes (PFKFB1 through PFKFB4).
