Inhibition of the NLRP3 Inflammasome in Mice With Acute Pericarditis

(A) Pericardial effusion measured at 7 days following daily treatment with colchicine (100 μg/kg) and NLRP3 inhibitor 16673-34-0 (100 mg/kg). Colchicine and 16673-34-0 significantly reduced pericardial effusion in mice with pericarditis. (B) Treatment with the NLRP3 inhibitor 16673-34-0, but not colchicine, showed a significant reduction of the pericardial thickness following acute pericarditis in mice compared with the vehicle-treated group.
