After building the reference pan-genome, CORRECT mode calculates fragment weights and lab weights according to the pan-genome annotations. To predict the lab-of-origin of an unknown sequence, PlasmidHawk first aligns the query sequence to the pan-genome and identifies candidate source labs through MAX mode: in this case, lab A and lab C. CORRECT mode then calculates lab scores for the labs output from MAX mode. In the end, CORRECT mode predicts the lab with the minimum lab score, lab A, as the depositing lab.
