Cytokines production by peritoneal macrophages stimulated with live GAS or S. aureus. CXCL1, CXCL2 and TNF-α protein concentrations were measured by ELISA in culture supernatants of resident peritoneal macrophages from WT and IL-1R-deficient mice at 24 h after infection with increasing MOIs (1, 5, and 10) of GAS (AC) or S. aureus (DF).
