IG-loaded nanoformulations can attenuate macroscopic injury and colon length shortening in DSS-induced colitis. Representative macroscopic analysis and colon length changes of rat colonic tissues are shown in this figure. Rats were orally treated with different NPs at a doses of 30 mg IG/kg once for 14 days after administration of DSS. Remarkably, IG-loaded dual-functional NPs (DFNPs) significantly attenuated the colon length shortening compared with IG-loaded pH-sensitive NPs (PNPs) and IG-loaded time-dependent NPs (TNPs).
