The range of measures captured in daily living conditions in this study

(A and B) Wearable and smartphone data from one exemplary subject monitored over 21 days. (A) The amount of ambient light was captured on the wrist along with (B) the acceleration used here as a proxy for physical activity.

(C–F) We quantified the smartphone behavior in hour-long bins in terms of (C) the number of touches, (D) the speed of the interactions measured as the interval between subsequent touches (fastest 25th percentile at each bin, tapping speed, TS), (E) the time taken to unlock the screen (unlocking speed, US), and (F) the time to select an app icon while on the home screen (app locating speed, ALS).
