Figure 5. Amino acid sequence alignment of viperins or VLEs from the six kingdoms.

Figure 5.

25 residues surrounding CTP are highlighted using the coloring system used in Figure 4. Other absolutely conserved sites are highlighted in maroon and other mostly conserved sites are highlighted in yellow. The viperin or VLE sequences aligned are from Homo sapiens (NP_542388.2), Mus musculus (AAH57868.1), Trichomonas vaginalis G3 (XP_001324419.1), Capsaspora owczarzaki ATCC 30864 (XP_004363934.1), Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (XP_001693132.1), Colletotrichum higginsianum IMI 349063 (XP_018157122.1), Thielavia terrestris NRRL 8126 (XP_003653480.1), Methanocalculus sp. 52_23 (KUK70247.1), Candidatus Methanomethylophilus alvus (WP_048097766.1), Photobacterium profundum (WP_011218337), and Treponema medium ATCC 700293 (EPF28955.1). Sequences were aligned using MUSCLE55 and illustrated using ESPript 3.0 (http://espript.ibcp.fr56).
