Consequently, only AD skin samples collected from the antecubital crease were included in comparative analyses between AD patients and healthy individuals. TEWL and pH were measured on the volar forearm on non-lesional AD skin, and only samples collected from this site were, therefore, included in analyses of skin barrier function.
