Sustained inflammation in SCD liver causes activation of NF-κB and its target genes which repressed FXR signaling in the liver of SCD mice leading to misexpression of canalicular bile transporters (BSEP, ABCG5,8 and MRP2), intrahepatic bile accumulation, and alered bile acid composition.
