ClpSA, ClpX, and ClpP each are important during H₂O₂ stress. Anaerobically grown cultures of Hpx⁻ strains were diluted into aerobic medium containing H₂O₂ at time zero. Strains: LC106, ASE11, ASE7, and ASE67. Curves are representative of at least 3 experiments. The transient phenotype of the Hpx⁻ clpSA mutant is statistically robust (Fig. S2).
