Was categorized as married/cohabiting and widowed/unmarried/divorce/separation

Spouse

Was defined as whether a CHD patient was accompanied by a spouse, and was categorized as yes or no

No = 0; Yes = 1

Educational level

Was categorized as illiterate, primary school, junior high school or above

illiterate = 1; primary school = 2; junior high school and above = 3

Per capita monthly actual income

Was categorized as < 72$ (US dollars), 72 ~ 143$, and 143 ~ $

 < 72 = 1; 72- = 2; ≥ 143 ~  = 3

Smoking status

Was defined as at least one cigarette per day for previous six months

Never = 0; Current = 1; Former = 3

Drinking status

Was defined as 12 times alcohol consumption per year

Never = 0; Current = 1; Former = 3

High-fat diet

Was defined as taking at least 75 g fat per day

No = 0; Yes = 1

Vegetable and fruit diet

Was defined as taking at least 500 g vegetable or fruit per day

No = 0; Yes = 1
