Primary endpoint was defined as the composite of death from any cause or DAMA in ECC (defined as the composite of circulatory shock, electrical instability requiring emergency medical interventions, or acute respiratory failure with the need for invasive mechanical ventilation). DAMA: discharge against medical advice; ECC: extremely critical condition; ICCU: intensive cardiac care unit.
