Location distribution for lesions biopsied from 1756 osteosarcoma cases included in the current analysis. a. Lesions were categorised as originating from the appendicular skeleton (limbs and pelvis), axial skeleton (head, cervical and spinal vertebrae, sternum and ribs). Extraskeletal osteosarcomas were those not originating from any bony tissue. The lesion location was not recorded for 528/1756 cases. b. Osteosarcoma lesions were categorised based on the tissue of origin. Those locations with less than 1 case were grouped as “other” and included 1 renal, 7 hepatic, 3 pulmonary, 1 bladder, 2 gastrointestinal, 1 pleural, 1 thyroid, 1 aortic, 1 jugular groove, 1 lymph node, 1 ocular, 2 fibula, 2 metacarpal and 4 sternal osteosarcomas
