Normal to mild airflow limitation was defined as FEV1/FVC ≥0.7 and FVC ≥80% predicted, and FEV1/FVC <0.7 and FEV1 ≥80% predicted. Moderate to very severe airflow limitation was defined as FEV1/FVC <0.7 and FEV1 <80% predicted.
