Cells were grown on MM supplemented with 40 μM iron citrate (unless specified otherwise) and 10 μM CuSO4. Samples were whole cells unless otherwise indicated. n, number of independent replicates. Concentrations are in μM except for P which is in mM. Reported cytosol and FTS concentrations are measured values after being multiplied by a 14× dilution factor.
