The analyses were stratified by age (37–49, 50–59, or ≥75 years), and additionally adjusted for ethnicity (white, non‐white), index of multiple deprivation (fifth), alcohol consumption (daily or almost daily, three or four times a week, once or twice a week, one to three times a month, special occasions only, never, or unknown/missing), smoking status (never smoker, previous smoker, or current smoker), physical activity (low, moderate, or high), fruit and vegetable intake (≥5 portions or <5 portions), diabetes (yes or no), height (75–159, 160–169, 170–179 or 180–209 cm), NSAIDS use (yes or no), and family history of cancer (yes or no). For fat‐free mass and fat mass, mutually adjusted was applied.
