Postsphenoid ossification was identified as an intrasphenoidal hyperintense area on T1WI in 27 of the 32 cases (84%). Representative images are shown of different shapes of postsphenoid ossification hyperintensity on sagittal T1WI: a 19-week-old fetus showing condensed hyperintensity (A), a 19-week-old fetus showing diffusely spreading hyperintensity (B), and a 31-week-old fetus showing rim-shaped hyperintensity (C). The most common shape of postsphenoid ossification hyperintensity was condensed hyperintensity, appearing in 15 of 27 cases (55%).
