Middle panel: TLR7 induces expressions of the death receptor ligand TRAIL and its receptors. Right panel: TRAIL induces neuronal death through the induction of caspase cascades. Blocking either let-7b, TLR7, or TRAIL with the let-7 inhibitor, TLR7 siRNA, or a TRAIL neutralizing antibody respectively prevent ethanol-induced neurodegeneration.
