Reversible cervical spinal cord lesion due to decompression sickness. MR imaging shows an extensive lesion causing enlargement of the cervical spinal cord. The lesion appears as a high signal on sagittal (A) and axial T2WI (D and E) and on DWI (B) without concomitant signal decrease on the ADC map (C). All these characteristics, with complete healing without a scar as shown on sagittal T2WI (F) obtained 2 weeks later, are consistent with vasogenic edema (referred to as an “ischemic-like” lesion in the On-line Table).
