The role of CSB in TC-NER. In TC-NER, blocking lesions (red star) are identified by stalled RNA polymerase. Persistent stalled RNA polymerase leads to recruitment of the TC-repair factors, CSB and CSA. Following lesion recognition, it is verified by TFIIH and excision is performed by XPG and XPF-ERCC1.
