Viscosity is calculated through Jeffreys’ equation²¹; surface tension is based upon literature data: basalt at the liquidus from McBirney and Murase³⁷; iron at the melting point from Kasama et al.³⁸, and is to be taken as a maximum value, as alloys have a lower surface tension³⁹.
