(b, c) Qualitative results for the artificial tumor test-case AT-C1 (a mono-focal, mostly proliferative tumor) with growth parameters ρ = 8, κ = 0.025. The images show the tumor data (gray wireframe), ground truth tumor initial condition (green volume), reconstructed tumor initial condition (magenta volume), ventricles (cyan volume), and a section of the patient brain geometry. We observe exact reconstruction for smaller tumors with sparsity constraints. The L2 solver fails to obtain the same reconstruction due to its inability to determine the correct reaction coefficient. We refer the reader to Tab. 4.3 for the quality of final tumor reconstruction.
