Changes in the taurine content of the skin in mice. Skin samples were excised from the backs of hairless mice, and the taurine content was determined in the epidermis (a) and dermis (b) by HPLC. Values represent the mean ± S.E. of 7–10 animals. The values were significantly different from those in 6-week-old mice (**p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001) and those in 15-week-old mice (###p < 0.001), determined by ANOVA (Dunnett’s test)
