BIA-ALCL patient example. This 43-year-old woman had a past medical history of left breast cancer and bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies and reconstruction with textured (Allergan Corporation, Biocell 410 style, 475 ml) silicone implant reconstruction. Three years following implantation, she developed a left periprosthetic effusion. (A,C,E) Fine needle aspiration demonstrated BIA-ALCL and she underwent a single-stage en bloc resection with explantation, total capsulectomy, and immediate reconstruction with smooth silicone implants.
