Sweat is monitored on the fingertip of a healthy volunteer along with heart rate and ambient temperature as the mostly sedentary subject performed intervals of public speaking (a) during a live-streamed academic conference in Trial 1, and (b) while teaching a class in Trial 2. The stress-inducing intervals of public speaking are associated with elevated heart rate and a sharp increase in sweat rate.
