In the QLQ-C15-PAL, patients rated their symptoms using a 4-point scale (1 = not at all, 2 = a little, 3 = quite a bit, 4 = very much) for two functional domains and 7 symptom domains, and a 7-point scale (range: 1 = very poor to 7 = excellent) for overall QOL. All scale scores were linearly transformed, and the resultant scores ranged from 0 to 100. Q1: first quarter (25% quartile), Q3: third quarter (75% quartile), SD: standard deviation
