A Unprocessed MitoTracker Red signal is readily observed at different depths in the z-slice within a phrenic motor neuron. B Deconvolved MitoTracker Red signal, based on the blind deconvolution (inverse of the idealised point spread function) was done on each z-slice within the confocal z-stack in the xy plane. C mitochondrial volume creation based on the local contrast of each deconvolved MitoTracker Red z-slice image. These volumes were created using the volume-generating algorithm within the NIS Elements software package. Scale Bar: 3 μm.
