Fig. 1 — ATCC 17978 mutants (a) and 29D2 mutants (b) deficient in surface-associated motility. Wildtypes and mutants of strains ATCC 17978 and 29D2 were inoculated on motility plates. Plates were incubated for 16 h at 37 °C. The diameter (Ø) of surface-associated motility spreading zone was measured and triplicates were statistically analyzed.
