The protective effect of DHA was suppressed by an RXR antagonist. (A) SH-SY5Y cells were pretreated with 0.1 or 1 µM DHA along with the RXR antagonist UVI3003 for 24 h, and then the cells were re-treated with DHA and these antagonists, followed by the addition of 3 µM MeHg. After 24 h, the cell viability was measured by MTT assay. (B) SH-SY5Y cells were pretreated with the RXR agonist bexarotene at the indicated concentration for 24 h, and then the cells were treated with 3 µM MeHg for 24 h and the cell viability was measured by MTT assay.
