SIN-1 reduces the hexokinase activity. HUVEC were treated with SIN-1 or IL-1α either alone, or in combination for 18 h. (A) Hexokinase activity was measured by fluorimetry through the conversion of NAD⁺ to NADH in a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase-coupled reaction. n = 4; * p < 0.05 vs. cells incubated in the absence of SIN-1. Cells were treated with the stimuli in the presence of (B) glucose-6P or of the hexokinase inhibitor glucosamine, or (C) glucose.
