Red flags for urgent breast referral

Refer urgently to the rapid-access breast clinic if:

  • male aged ≥50 years with a unilateral subareolar mass +/− nipple discharge +/− skin changes;

  • bloody nipple discharge; or

  • unilateral ulceration of the nipple.
