Effect of the induction of heat shock proteins (HSPs) in mice treated with geranylgeranylacetone (GGA) or subjected to heat shock. (A) HSP27, 60, 72, and 90 mRNA expression levels in the aorta after GGA administration. 5-week-old ApoE−/− mice were administered vehicle or GGA (500 mg/kg/day) for 24 h, and total RNA was subsequently extracted from the aorta. (B) HSP27, 60, 72, and 90 mRNA expression levels in the aorta after heat shock treatment. 5-week-old ApoE−/− mice were exposed to a 30 °C (control) or 41 °C (heat shock) bath for 30 min. After 24 h, total RNA was extracted from the aorta. Each bar represents the mean ± standard deviation (SD).
