Knockdown of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 and N-cadherin decreases the migration and invasion of galectin-14-overexpressed HTR/Svneo. siRNA-mediated MMP-9 and N-cadhrin knockdown was performed in galectin-14-overexpressed HTR-8/Svneo. (A) Protein expression was assessed by Western blotting with antibodies against N-cadherin and MMP-9 and normalized to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH). (B) Gelatinase activity was determined by gelatin zymography. (C) The migration and invasion ability of extravillous trophoblasts (EVTs) were examined using transwell migration and invasion assays. Results are represented as mean ± SEM of biological triplicates. Statistical analysis: Student’s t-test. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001.
