Maternal conditions
Diabetes or altered glucose tolerance
Preeclampsia/eclampsia or hypertension
Earlier pregnancy with a large infant
Treatment with tricyclic antidepressants
Treatment with serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors
Treatment with tocolytics
Treatment with beta blockers
Drug abuse
Family history of a genetic form of hypoglycemia
Congenital syndromes (eg, Beckwith-Wiedemann)
Infant conditions
Premature birth (<37 weeks)
Small for gestational age (SGA < 10th percentile)
Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR)
Large for gestational age (LGA >90th percentile)
Discordant twin (weight discordance > 10%)
Low birth weight (< 2,500 g)
Sepsis
Perinatal hypoxia-ischemia
Rhesus disease
