Cell homing behavior of decellularized ventricle scaffolds. Already after 24 h, human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells seeded onto rat decellularized ventricles formed a complete-like lining on the endocardial surface (a at 24 h, d at 7 days, and g at 14 days) and could be observed penetrating in the myocardial layer (b at 24 h, e at 7 days, and h at 14 days) and covering the intimal scaffolding of the vascular tree, i.e., blood vessels and heart valve apparatus (c at 24 h, f at 7 days, and i at 14 days).
