Effect of blockade of interleukin-1 (IL-1Ra) action on cytokine release from placental explants exposed to oxidative stress or hypoxia. Explants were exposed to oxidative stress (1 mM H₂O₂), or hypoxia (1% O₂), in the presence or absence of IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra). Cytokines were measured in conditioned medium: (a) IL-1α, (b) IL-β, (c) IL-6, (d) IL-8, (e) CCL2. Line represents median, n = 8–12.
