Model-aided conditions. In cases where the human observer’s answer differed from the model, they were shown the original image with their prediction along with the model heatmap and top two model predictions with probabilities. In this case, the human observer is presented with the model’s prediction of an intertrochanteric fracture (denoted by the white arrow added manually for the purpose of this figure), which is correct, after stating that there was no fracture.
