Effect of test variables on the in vitro release of acyclovir from the marketed cream formulation (Cream 1). (A) Increase in the media temperature from 32°C to 37°C significantly increased (P < 0.05) the in vitro release of acyclovir from the marketed cream formulation (Cream 1). (B) Media volume of 150 mL showed significantly lower drug release (P < 0.05) as compared with 200 mL of the medium.
