A schematic representation of DTL’s functional experiment. The embryo fibroblast cells from the great tit (named GEF) were used. After knocking down endogenous DTL and transfecting exogenous DTLtaczan, DTLrufico, DTLadamsi, DTLancestor, and DTLmontan (SI Appendix, Fig. S1), we exposed GEFs to UVB irradiation and checked repair kinetics (percent repair) by measuring two UV-induced photoproducts, 6-4PP and CPD. For each curve, the bar of SE is shown based on three biological replicates.
