Effect of doxycycline on the formation of heparin-induced insoluble tau species. Samples of fresh, monomeric tau (22 μM) were incubated with and without heparin (0.2 mg/ml), in the presence and in the absence of doxycycline (100 μM) for 72 h. Upon incubation, samples were centrifuged and the supernatants were recovered to be treated with guanidine hydrochloride (GnCl).
