Note. Coordinates were experimentally adjusted based on a data from a pilot study to target the brain areas at the coordinates depicted in brackets in a standard rat brain atlas (Paxinos and Watson, 1998). AP: anteroposterior, ML: mediolateral, DV: dorsoventral. Based on the previously established functional boundary in LO (Panayi and Killcross, 2018), we used the presence of the corpus collosum and the claustrum in the coronal section to mark the anterior–posterior division of LO.
