Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and corresponding histology from a formalin‐fixed multiple sclerosis (MS) spinal cord. Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions show anatomical variation in myelin with white matter showing increased myelin water relative to the central gray matter butterfly.
