Immunohistochemistry of the temporal white with thorn‐shaped astrocytes (TsA) using cryostat sections processed free‐floating with antibodies Thr181 (A, B), AT8 (C, D), Alz50 (E, F), MC‐1 (G, H) and Thr231 (I, J). Photographs of the CA1 area of the same sections stained with Thr231 (K) and MC‐1 (L) are included for comparative purposes. TsA are stained with antibodies Thr181, AT8, Alz50, MC‐1 and Thr231. Similar staining is observed in tangles of the cerebral cortex in the same cases. The peroxidase reaction was visualized in blue because of the use of NH₄NiSO ₄ enhancement.
