The colors indicate the four lowest (red) and four highest (green) relative numbers of publications. For example: for the gray squirrel, the number of Scopus publications since 1980 is 8% of the number of Scopus publications for all thirteen species, which is why it is colored green. As explained in “Methodology”, there were many more records for the Asian tiger mosquito (28% refers to the refined query)
