Experimental workflow. Conditioned media (CM) samples from 40 AML patient cell cultures were collected in two aliquots, of which one was analyzed alone (i.e., AML-CM) and one was added to MSC cultures derived from one donor in ratio 1:1 (i.e., MSC/AML-CM). Medium without AML-CM was added to six MSC cultures (i.e., MSCs alone). One aliquot of the MSC donor cells was also cultured under the same conditions as the AML cell cultures (not included in the figure). See Section 2.2 for details.
