mRNA levels of major renal oxylipin enzymes in CKD kidney samples. Quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis of major oxylipin enzymes expressed in the kidney (Alox15, Alox5, Ptgs1 [COX1], Ptgs2 [COX2], Cyp4a12 and Cyp2c44) was performed using sham and 5/6 nephrectomized (Nx) kidney samples. Compared with the sham kidneys, the 5/6 Nx kidneys had significantly increased mRNA level of Alox15 (P = 0.0004). The number of samples is shown at the bottom of the bar graph. Values are mean ± SEM.
