TLC of AaTAT assays using various putative substrates which failed to be accepted by AaTAT: d-Tyr, l-Asp and l-Ser as well as l-Tyr as a positive control. Each sample is shown after 0 min and 45 min incubation time. While the assay with l-Tyr leads to visible accumulation of glutamate, l-Tyr, l-Asp, and l-Ser show no glutamate formation.
