N-cadherin knockdown promoted the odontogenic differentiation of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs). DPSCs transfected with a control or N-cadherin-specific shRNA lentivirus were subjected to odontogenic induction for 7 or 14 days. The expression level of odontogenic-related genes (DSPP and Runx2) were detected by qPCR and western blotting on day 7 and 14 (A,B). The alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity was measured by ALP staining on day 7 (C). The formation of mineralized nodules was detected by alizarin red staining (ARS) on day 14 (D). Scale bars = 500 μm.
