Three-dimensional micro-CT reconstructed images of the control group. The images were obtained at 2 weeks (a), 4 weeks (c), and 6 weeks (e) after surgery and these were viewed by cutting through the long axis of each tibia in the coronal planes (b, d, and f). The fracture gap at 4 and 6 weeks had disappeared and was bridged by new bone formation (e and f)
