The biological characteristics of WT POR-1, ΔvscF mutant, and complementation CΔvscF strains. Growth curves (A) of V. parahaemolyticus strains were determined with the deletion of the vscF gene. Cytotoxic (B) and adherent (C) abilities of V. parahaemolyticus mutant strains were examined using infected HeLa cells. Values are presented as means and standard deviations from three biological replicates. **P < 0.01 and ***P < 0.001. HeLa morphology under co-incubation with V. parahaemolyticus strains was observed using an inverted microscope. DNA was stained with DAPI (blue), whereas the cell skeleton was stained with Tubulin-Tracker (red) (D).
